Irene
This ten-metre Super Holland Cruiser was built in 1939, ten years before Feadship was founded, at the Akerboom-Van Lent yard on Kaageiland. For this series, the yard collaborated with Fred Kemper in Schiedam. The white hull is made of neatly smooth steel—something we now take for granted, but at the time Irene was built, it was quite exceptional for a leisure yacht.
The joinery on board remains largely in its original state. The beauty of the interior, with white-painted panels and dark red mahogany trim, lies in its complete simplicity. That same simplicity continues outside the cabin. The wheelhouse, for example, features a wooden frame with beige canvas.
Robert and his wife Kathrin are the proud owners of this eighty-year-old piece of heritage.
