A & L

The A&L was built in 1937 at the Akerboom and Van Lent yard as a yard tug for internal use, and remained in service until 1990.

After standing idle for some time under the hay barn canopy at Julianalaan 13 in Kaag, the small tug was purchased by the family living on Vogeleiland. In 2017, the yard bought her back with the intention of turning her into a student project, but for various reasons this was never carried out.

In 2022, A&L was sold to Jacqueline and Gerard Nouwens – Van Lent. Jacqueline is the granddaughter of Cees van Lent.

Following a complete rebuild and conversion to electric propulsion, she is once again sailing proudly.
